Our “Fans” Write Us

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006

Sometimes we receive email from brokers and agents who make it clear they are not fans. This beauty just arrived in my inbox from “Jim”:

Is there a service I can use to pick out a brain surgeon or a great attorney or a day care provider so I can bid and not be conceerned[sic] with their quality or their true experiance[sic] or past bad service.I thought prostitution was illegal.Great concept!!”

“Jim” not only illustrates his difficulty with the English language, but he totally misses the point of AgentRankâ„¢ whose sole purpose is to represent an agent’s “quality”. If an agent can’t prove he or she has a good track record, they will not see a whole lot of action on RealtyBaron.com. Unfortunately, I can’t help but think there are a 1,000 agents for every “Jim” who leave our little corner of the Web with the same misunderstanding.

New RealtyBaron.com is Live

This was such a big remodeling effort, we may have thrown ourselves right back into “beta” status. However, it was a much needed overhaul. Here are a few of the big changes:

  1. Brokers/agents now log in from a separate area of the site.
  2. The look and feel has been slightly improved.
  3. The page flow responsible for creating listing auctions has been greatly simplified.
  4. Anonymous Q&A between agents and homeowners is now possible. (This was a much needed feature to help avoid surprises after a listing auction completes)

Let me know what you think. And, of course, report any bugs if found. Thanks!

And, We’re Back

A quick shout for those who are still with us. I’ve been working feverishly on a newly skinned website scheduled for release within 2 weeks (which really means 3-4 weeks in the world of software). Hopefully, it will not only look delicious, but it will address numerous “usability” challenges brought to my attention from homeowners and agents alike.

Cheers!
